This drill emphasizes the following points when setting up for a shot off the dribble:
1) Catch the ball off the dribble.
2) Quick drop (after ball is already caught off the dribble). The quick drop will bring the defender down with you. Shooter should drop, not hop. Hopping causes a delay and gives the defender time to get in place to block the shot.
3) Immediately after your drop you should push off immediately and surge (jump) into your shot.
